Wheel alignment
In order to give you an idea of just how important proper wheel alignment we’ll use a rather unusual, but very adequate, example. Just imagine a walk in a pair of unlaced shoes.
Proper wheel alignment influences:
- safety
- fuel efficiency
- tire wear
- comfort
The four most important elements in wheel alignment are: camber, caster, kingpin inclination and toe or tracking.
If the wheel alignment is off, tire wear will be uneven and accelerated. Kingpin inclination influences the stability of a vehicle on the road and has a major impact on steering characteristics. Improper adjustment will result in an unstable ride. Proper toe adjustment minimizes the risk of loss of traction, improves overall steering stability and prevents improper tire wear.
That’s why we invite all of you for a wheel alignment at least once per year (especially after winter and as an absolute must before purchasing a used car).
Wheel alignments in our shop are performed with the aid of a computer controlled EXACT BLACKTECH Corghi on a X 6000 CT LT PT6 Corghi scissor hoist.
The 3D technology driven Exact BlackTech Corghi is equipped with 8 NIR high definition cameras – two cameras per target. This guarantees a three-dimensional (stereoscopic) wide scale measurement characterized by exceptional detail and repeatability. NIR technology (near infrared) is utilized in image readout on BlackTag monitors. This equipment is fully compatible with current vehicle models. The factory vehicle model database includes over 18.000 models divided into specific car markets (i.e. European).
With regards to the lift system used on wheel balances in our shop, our equipment represents a virtual breakthrough on the market. The 5400 mm long platform and lift capacity of 6000 kg will handle even extended delivery vehicles, i.e. mini-busses. It is equipped with a 6 direction play detector and scissor hoist with a lift capacity of 4000 kg. In addition, a specially designed height adjustable turntable guarantees the ideal platform level.
